We have miner bees on the bank in the playground. There are a lot of them today, (presumably due to the hot weather).
Having looked into it these bees are non-aggressive. The females do have a sting, however it is light and generally not strong enough to penetrate human skin. We are looking into ways to manage this. In the meantime, please keep your children off the grass in order to keep them safe and to allow the bees to continue to pollinate our plants and keep our world a healthy place to live in
